GFN’s María Garcia will present her work on the development of an OpenFOAM-based Computational-Fluid-Dynamics model for solid-oxide fuel-cells (SOFCs). The model uses a multi-domain approach to address the several physical processes in the channels, the electrodes and the electrolyte of a microtubular SOFC. Her work includes a rigorous analysis of the several mass-transfer modes in the porous electrodes, and the modelling of the conjugate heat transfer across the cell (including radiation effects)
