Project at a glance

TLC is a project funded by the European Union under the Sixth Framework Programme (Priority 4 – Aeronautics and Space). TLC stands for Towards Lean Combustion. The aim of the project is to advance aeroengine designs by investigating low-NOx technologies, calibrating CFD models and improving physical knowledge, and developing high-quality diagnostic-tools.

The project runs from 1 March 2005 for four years, with a global budget of 7.5 million euros.

The EC Scientific Officer is M Daniel Chiron, and the project coordinator is M Thomas Noel from SNECMA, FR.

The TLC Consortium is made up of 19 partners from 6 European countries, including the main actors in aero-engine combustor technology and leading European universities and national research centres.
